Fearna Manor Nursing Home is a purpose-built single-storey facility with 30 single en-suite rooms, providing long-term, respite, convalescence, dementia, and palliative care. Residents and visitors generally spoke positively about the caring staff and quality of care. However, the building is in poor repair, with fire safety and infection control issues that need urgent attention. Activities are available daily, and food is generally well-liked, though the dining room is uninviting. Management systems and record-keeping require improvement to ensure safety and quality.

Under Fair Deal you pay up to 80% of your income and 7.5% of the value of your assets a year, and the State pays the rest. Homes may charge extra for things like activities, hairdressing or newspapers, so ask about these when you call.
